My name is Molekor Adeyinka and I am a graduate of the British College of Professional Styling UK.
Taking this course was one of the best decisions I ever made. I am a stay at home mom who loves fashion and everything about style and this was an easy way to catch up without waiting to gain years of experience on the field.
With the advice and pointers given by already established stylists and experts in the industry during the course of the tutorials, it’s easier to know what to expect when going into business as a stylist or applying for a job.
Since completing my course as a professional stylist, I have gotten to work with a couple of upcoming designers, styling and giving inside advice for their fashion shows and collections.
I especially liked the areas where we delved into the history of fashion and its trends, it definitely sets you apart from others in the industry!
As a part of the course requirements, I was asked to start up a fashion blog which I did called style by molekor, and it was then I realised how much I enjoyed writing about fashion!
I have been invited to feature in a few other blogs as a guest blogger who has fun writing about fashion and encouraging others to do the same. I love writing about fashion, styling and offering shopping tips and insights. I have also received gifts from brands for writing about them and their products, and had the unique opportunity to interview some African designers on their brand and style.
Although I am still building a clientele as a personal stylist, I have been able to do so because of what I learnt at the College. Not only was it affordable for me with the near flexible payment plan, but the courses are taken at your own pace which means you do not feel at all pressured to complete the course at a specified time frame. I would advise however that anyone taking up this course, draw up a workable plan that will help them complete the course in a feasible enough time frame so that they can go ahead to make a profitable living off it.
I appreciate the effort and patience put in by my tutor, Ms Katharine Morris and her team in giving productive and encouraging reviews every step of the way. Their invaluable contribution and advice surely helped in setting me off in the right direction and staying on the right course through to the end.
