I have always had a passion for fashion and an appreciation of style and colour and I enjoyed acting as a personal shopper for friends and family. Helping them choose outfits for their special occasions and receiving the lovely compliments when I give gifts that are perfectly suited to the recipients.
I was inspired to undertake The Professional Photo, Film, TV & Personal Stylist’s Course in order to further pursue my interest. From the moment I started the course, I knew I had made the right decision.
I thoroughly enjoyed the reading the course material and completing the assignments. As the assignment work was so varied, it allowed me to explore in depth, my passion for fashion. When I started I never would have thought I’d be arranging a photo shoot, liaising with other professionals and organising the clothes and models. For me this was really exciting!
Now that I have completed my course, looking at how far I have come, I realise how hard I worked to complete the assignments and how much confidence I have gained throughout the process. I feel very proud of myself.
It was during my preparation of the final assignment, to prepare my portfolio, that I realised how much I had achieved and grown as a person in the world of styling. I’m really pleased with my portfolio and this is thanks to the encouragement of my tutor and the course structure that ensured that through the assignments and feedback given that I was able to produce a portfolio of a very high standard. I know all the hard work put into developing my portfolio, will assist in gaining clients long into the future.
At present, as encouraged by my personal course tutor Katharine, I’m developing a website to assist in marketing myself as a colour analyst and personal shopper, which is where my interests lie.
The course was made all the more pleasurable and trouble-free, thanks to the availability of the administration team who promptly answered all of my emails, putting my mind at ease and helping me in any way they could.
Finally, a big thank you goes to Katharine Morris my personal tutor, whose feedback after each assignment was positive and encouraging. This allowed and assisted me to face the next assignment with the knowledge that I was progressing and gave me the confidence to try harder to produce my best work.
